The bouldering season for the JCCA is from August to December. The season consists of three qualifying competitions followed by one championship event. Each qualifying competition will be redpoint format and the championship event will be onsite. Bouldering is a form of climbing that is attempted without a rope. Short climbs called boulder problems are climbed above mats for protection.
In order to qualify for the Championship event the climber must participate at at least one of the qualifying competitions. To be counted for the overall title the climber must compete in two qualifying events and the Championship event. In the case where a climber competes at all three qualifying events their best two placements will be counted towards the overall title along with their championship placement.
